Discover a unique theory about the Neanderthal and Homo Sapiens, the religion and rituals in Europe since prehistoric times.
Atala (which means « Atlantis », the white Island) is a website dedicated to articles related to prehistory, and more specifically to Marie Cachet’s unique theory about the Neanderthal and Homo Sapiens hybridization. Atala also discusses the consequences related to the hybridization for the European man, and especially the unique cultural and moral heritage that still comes to us from the Neanderthal man, our true and almost only ancestor. Indeed, Neanderthal religion and philosophy (especially linked to the cult of the Bear, which, far from being a superstition is a complex and deep cult) have had a central but sometimes invisible role in all European religions and cultures.
Through my research I traveled back in time, to a kind of Golden Age and I invite you to understand with me this unique cult, which explain the well known rock carvings, all our mythology, our classical fairy tales, the Parsifal tale, the myth of Atlantis, our beloved Yule and a few rituals that still exist among us. This theory also explains the well-known Egyptian mythology and the book of the dead, the European elements of Christianity and the whole European thought. The Bear Cult is like a key.
As an introduction to this “cultural” part of the Neanderthal theory, Varg Vikernes and me created the film Forebears, which will be available on DVD in March 2013.

Hello,
Unfortunately was http://www.atala.fr hacked last night. This is frustrating, but it will be possible to find the whole website from next Monday (October 1st) here.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Marie Cachet
Good luck with this new page, it looks more nice.
I will be really careful of any of your news here.
Well done Marie, the site looks fantastic. Also good luck with your new film with Varg.
The video trailer is excellent and the subject rare !
Congratulations for You and Varg Vikernes and good luck throughout the releasing of the movie !
Actually I hadn’t known we were mostly Neanderthal, and I wonder what part of our DNA came from the sapiens’ DNA.
I suffer from a DNA error which gave me very bad eyes at birth, I am happy to be still seeing, as there are interesting learnings on this site ! I wish you both well !
This video is not the trailer that I will post later. The film will not be a documentary, but a kind of fiction.
Thank you for your encouragement.
That’s a really exciting job, Mrs. Cachet.
Greetings from Brazil!
I really appreciate your work, Marie. Congratulations and success with the film.
(More) Greetings from Brazil.
merci pour votre superbe boulot

Hey! I love your work, good job with the website and everything! Can’t wait for the movie..
Marie, do you have any thoughts regarding what’s known as “Schizoid Personality Disorder”? I strongly identify with all the symptoms as defined by the WHO, except for the first one, as I do take pleasure from many musical and intellectual experiences (though I usually remain outwardly stoic).
(a) few, if any, activities, provide pleasure;
(b) emotional coldness, detachment or flattened affectivity;
(c) limited capacity to express either warm, tender feelings or anger towards others;
(d) apparent indifference to either praise or criticism;
(e) little interest in having sexual experiences with another person (taking into account age);
(f) almost invariable preference for solitary activities;
(g) excessive preoccupation with fantasy and introspection;
(h) lack of close friends or confiding relationships (or having only one) and of desire for such relationships;
(i) marked insensitivity to prevailing social norms and conventions.
Many thanks for your time and hard work.
This is a very complicated subject that would require a longer answer, and I would have to read more on the subject. But… In a way, I see this as a enclosed form of autism (the autistic people is in communication with the sensory world). The “common autistic particular interest” would be the fantastic interior world.
Interesting, thanks for the feedback. Incidentally, I’d like to point out that I’m not completely disconnected from the sensory world; in example, I love being out in the wilderness, especially skiing in the forest at night. I guess that’s a bit of a borderline case though, because the reason why I enjoy being in the wilderness at night is that I can enjoy it in solitude then, and feel more in touch with my fantasies.
@Marie : Harvard professor seeks “adventurous” woman to give birth to Neanderthal baby clone^_______^
No thank you. It will surely be a huge false flag operation with a false Neanderthal baby. They don’t have the whole DNA.
Marie, please, we would really like to know how the Neanderthal baby. They have the whole 100% DNA of Neanderthal.
No, they are lying. I do not play with a child’s life, these people are completely crazies, and it is very serious.
yup, i agree with you, I’m sorry^__^
To me this nostalgia and the glorification of our ancestry, the neandertals, and the purifism of the european race sounds a bit simple. I mean we’ll easily increase our intelligence in the future by tenfolds of what we’ve, according to you (and Varg), have lost by mixing the races.
the site is very cool
the site is very cool and i cant wait for the film.
can the neanderthal been green eyed?
what do u think about our ancestors cloning?or cloned neanderhal baby could live in this society???
Hoax, you cannot clone any “Neanderthal baby” without living cells (pluss the fact that they don’t have sequenced the whole Neanderthal DNA). They cannot clone any mammoth because of that fact, you can just google it. Maybe they want to create a false black Neanderthal in a absolutely naturally way (the only thing which will not be naturally is that they will receive 30 millions euros to create this baby…)
I was reading on wikipedia about foot’s shape in human beings, and I found about “Morton’s toe” , and they say that this kind of foot is an ancestral shape named “Pied de Néanderthal”, if you know something about that answer me if it’s true or not.
It is true…
So the Neanderthals had this kind of foot? I thought the most pure Europeans had normal foot with aligned toes…
Where can i buy a Forebears movie?
Here: http://ancestralcult.com/shop/
From the 10th of March
Thank you for feedback
Thank you for interest
There’s currently an interesting looking exhibition on at the British Museum which fits in with the timescale of Forebears. http://www.britishmuseum.org/whats_on/exhibitions/ice_age_art.aspx. They have the oldest known musical instrument on display, too. http://www.e-guidelondon.de/kunst-der-eiszeit-sonderausstellung-im-british-museum-8386
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-21759233 – …and yet more nonsense, maybe one day they will stop publishing articles by “scientists” and start listening to people who know what they are talking about. Thought this might also be of interest because of what it says about vision, though, and how this could relate to your theory on Neanderthals and autism:
“The Neanderthals’ more visually-focused brain structure might also have affected their ability to innovate and to adapt to the ice age that was thought to have contributed to their demise.” – Where do we start with listing the many things wrong with this stupid idea? How would having better brain-eye capabilities somehow disable people in an ice age? Their theories just keep getting more and more ridiculous and desperate, eventually people just stop listening altogether.
Il fait très beau de voir la discussion suscitée incitée par une femme intelligente des vues familières.
Marie, I’ve dicoverd something really astonishing here : http://www.premiumwanadoo.com/cuneiform.languages/en_lexique_hittite.htm
that can interest you very much.
I found there, that in Hittite language there is that word: ATTALLA ; that means “paternal”.
The word derives from the word ATTA – father. − addus DINGIRMEŠ : ancestors gods, Manes.
What do you think about this?
I”ve thought that it can be useful to you and will inspire you on some researches.
Hello,
have any of these claims been peer-reviewed? If so, by whom?
Thank you very much
No
Hi Marie, I watched ForeBears today after receiving it a couple of days ago, just wanted to write to say how wonderful and enlightening I found it, excellent work
And this seemed like the most appropriate place to comment and ask about it. It’s beautifully constructed and shot, I loved the footage of the bear and Norway as well (was any of the Norway footage by you? I did catch the bit in the credits about segments of other films used like the bear footage).
At first I assumed the bear was in your area…are there any bears in France? I get confused between which areas have managed to preserve bear populations and which have managed to preserve wolf populations…I seem to recall a French friend mentioning efforts to reintroduce bears from the Balkans, in France maybe, but I cannot remember.
Also, regarding Norway, do you have any thoughts on possible contact with polar bears? During the ice age I am assuming the Neanderthals could have had contact with them, so maybe this is the origin of certain Norse folk tales?…
Am I right in saying that the language spoken throughout is Old Norse? Is this the first language of your children you have chosen? If so, brilliant, reminds me I must dig my books out on Old Norse and learn this instead of Norwegian (which I did not get far with anyway). Would you say Icelandic is very good to study alongside it, for pronunciation if nothing else?
I found it a (in every sense of the word) good film to watch, that took further my understanding of our “ancestral cult” and the book of the dead, which I have started reading. My particular edition is a supposedly less “outdated” recent one with all of the images of the scroll included. I could not help concluding when watching this that the post-Neanderthal custom of burial mounds in Europe and Asia and the religion associated with it, as quoted from the book of the dead, was a natural development of this bear cult and the connections to the natural caves as a result.
Thank you
Thank you, I’m very glad you enjoyed it.
The parts filmed in Norway are not filmed by me (they are almost the only ones that are not). The majority of clips with bears are filmed by me, the three additional clips are the bear in the snow, the bear into the sea, and the she bear with cubs.
Concerning the way I’ve filmed them, it’s a secret …
There are some bears in the Pyrenees mountains in France, but very few.
It is possible that prehistoric people had contact with polar bears during the ice age, yes, I beieve that. However it is clear that contact with other bears (cave bear and brown bear) were much more important.
Regarding the Book of the Dead, I will discuss this in future articles on atala, the film is only an introduction ….
We speak Norwegian (and not Norse) in the film. I have some knowledge in Norse (Icelandic actually) and I have studied this language, but my level is far too low for me to speak it
I see, I was under the impression from comments Varg had made about it being a more ideal language to speak that both of you could speak it. I could tell where it came from, but have learned little Norwegian and even less Old Norse, so…
I am very much looking forward to future posts. Do you favour a particular translation of the book of the dead, or did you just feel like going for the classic Wallis Budge translation? I was going to go for this before I found a supposedly more “up-to-date” translation that is fully illustrated (it looks great, and has notes too though skimming through I’m not sure how valuable these are…usefulness of introductions and footnotes on these things varies from book to book…)
I will not ask about filming methods further
With any kind of valuable art a certain degree of “mystique” is needed, I think, but it’s generally brilliantly filmed I must say again!
I like Budge very much
but during my research I looked at other versions too, and with a good hieroglyphes dictionaries I checked the words that were problematic. I think most of the versions are good, but it is often interesting to compare them.
I see, I may still buy his version sometime then, with such essential core texts I think it pays to have more than one translation, like you say.
Also, I particularly liked the flint carving scene
Nice work!
Hello Marie! Have you studied something from the links on Prehistoric European writting I sent to you?
In any case, here are the european scripts(The Old European Writting) I was talking about(extracted from the website I sent to you), some of them dating 7000 years BC:
